Can you help Jay?

Can you help Jay? · 17 March 2022
Gorgeous Jay came into our Adoption Centre with his 3 siblings. It was noticed on his initial health check that he had an abnormality with his front left leg. In fact, some of his foot and toes were malformed, making his leg shorter than his others. This made it more difficult for Jay to get around in comparison to his other 3 siblings. Our vet decided that his leg needed to be amputated because the bottom of his leg was getting sore, as there was no pad for cushioning. As he was only 9 weeks old, and this would be a very big operation for him, it was decided that he would need to grow bigger before the surgery could take place.
Jay is now at the point where he is able to have his operation and we are asking for your help. As you can imagine, an operation like this can cost a significant amount for our charity, in this case around £600. Cats Protection receives no government funding, therefore we rely solely on the donations of kind supporters to ensure cats like Jay get the best chance in life. We never put a healthy cat to sleep and after his operation, Jay will have a happy life ahead of him, be it on 3 legs. We would very much appreciate any donation you feel you can give to cover the cost of Jay’s operation and recovery. Any funds raised above and beyond our target will be used to help other cats and kittens in our care at Hereford Adoption Centre. Thank you.
