Cats Protection's Jack's Appeal

Jack's Appeal · 20 December 2018
Jack is a very sweet and gentle 7-year-old ginger and white boy who has been very unwell over the past few weeks. In early December Jack started passing urine with blood in it and showing difficulty urinating. After a prompt visit to the vet it was discovered that our gentle Jack had a rather nasty urinary tract infection. Treatment was started immediately to ease his discomfort.
After a brief stay with our vet he was brought back to the centre to recuperate only to have to be taken back to the vet shortly after as he showed more signs of discomfort and difficulties. His bladder was blocked for a second time. By this point poor Jack was not doing too well and as he was now refusing to eat he had to be medicated by injection. Poor boy.
At one point the vet even checked for stones as our boy was so unwell, fortunately that test was clear!
Jack has again returned to the centre and although he is still very poorly he is so far doing much better. He is a shy boy with such a loving nature especially after going through such a tough time recently.
Jack has a long road to recovery but the staff at the centre adore him so he is in the best hands. He really has been worth the effort but it has cost the centre a significant amount of money. Due to the urgent nature of his condition we had to deal with out-of-hours consultations, emergency boarding, multiple sets of bloods to assess kidney function, imaging and intravenous fluid treatment and ongoing recovery treatment which has tipped the scales at £4,000!
Every cat in our care is given the very best treatment and Jack is no exception but as a charity that receives no government funding we do rely on the generosity of our supporters to help us in time of need. This is one of those times. Please can you help us pay for Jack’s treatment and recovery? He is a such a lovely boy and truly deserves to be happy, healthy and free of pain and discomfort. Anything you can spare will go a long way to helping Jack.
Any funds raised above and beyond our target will be used to help other cats and kittens in our care at North London Adoption Centre.
