Cawsand to Paris · 3 June 2010
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Late on the night of the third of June, 2010, a small ramshackle gang of music-making, bar-tending, studenting, graphic designing, shop-stewarding Cornish ragamuffins will be cycling from Cawsand down to the ferry to Roscoff. Their trusty (trusty might be a strong word for it) bicycles will then take them on a seven day trip to Paris. Muscles will be strained, cables snapped, nails broken, feet wearied, bottoms battered and inner tubes cursed. But we will get there.
All this will be done in the name of raising money for Shelterbox, an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide. Also, for some, in the names of quitting smoking, learning French, eating baguettes, getting out of the house and buying duty free goods. But mostly for Shelterbox.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
NONE of the money you donate will go towards the costs incurred by the trip. We're paying for accommodation and travel ourselves (unless we can blag any freebies from the companies we use).
So please dig deep and donate...
By the way...
If you sponsor £10 we will love you forever.
If you sponsor £50 that is a tenth of a Shelterbox. That's a single person's supply of shelter, warmth and dignity in a disaster. You're brilliant.
If you sponsor £100 Tricia will do the last leg of the journey with your name written on her face. If we run out of space on Tricia's face, other faces will be used.
If you sponsor £500 Jay will get a tattoo of a bicycle going up the Eiffel tower on his arse while we're in Paris, and I'll post a photo right here.
