Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On April 23rd, National Picnic Day, we are asking families to support the CBC by having their own Teddy Bears' Picnic at home with members of their household and their Teddy Bears of course.

Teddy Bears are a special friend and we can all remember cuddling our favourite bear when we were young, and the feelings of security, safety and comfort it brought.

The Children's Bereavement Centre provides a range of specialist services and all children accessing support are offered a special bear to take away to talk to about their feelings and emotions. A Teddy Bear can ease stress, build confidence, soothe tears and help a child handle fear, anxiety and the unknown. It is an important part of the range of support we provide to help children cope with their grief and bring hope for a brighter future.

Demand for bereavement support has never been greater and will continue to increase both during and after the Coronavirus pandemic. In light of fundraising events and campaigns being cancelled, it's more important than ever that we look for other ways to raise the funds needed to provide this vital service and support the children and young people that need us.

What better way to spend time with your family, have some fun, enjoy some lovely food and support the CBC than having your own Teddy Bears' picnic? So please do support us by getting involved and making a donation. (Suggested donation amount £5)

We would love to hear all about your picnic. Who will be taking part, the food you plan to have and the special Teddy Bears that will be joining you. Please send your photos and videos to us at info@childrensbereavementcentre.co.uk

Keep your eye on our Facebook page as we will be sharing ideas for perfect picnic food and games you can play. And don't worry if it's not a sunny day you can simply move your picnic indoors.

Please ensure you follow Government guidelines about social distancing during the Coronavirus lockdown and your picnic should only include people that are normally in your household.

Thank you
