Based in Symphony Hall, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra gives over 150 concerts each year in Birmingham, the UK and around the world, playing music that ranges from classics to contemporary, film music and even symphonic disco. With a far-reaching community programme and a family of choruses and ensembles, it’s involved in every aspect of music-making in the Midlands. But at its centre is a team of 75 superb professional musicians, and a 100-year tradition of making the world’s greatest music, right here in the heart of Birmingham.

Story

Do you remember your first experience of live music - the sounds, the tingles, the anticipation and excitement?

The CBSO has a passion for music, believing that everyone across Birmingham and the West Midlands should have the opportunity to experience our world-class performances, regardless of age, ability or social background. We need your support to sustain our valuable work.

Last year, alongside our acclaimed season at Symphony Hall and our high-profile international tours, we performed specially-designed concerts for families, schools and community groups; encouraged children and teachers across the city to sing and to create their own new music; provided unique training opportunities for talented young musicians and singers; and subsidised transport and tickets for people who would not otherwise be able to attend concerts.

If you share our love of music, every donation - large or small - will help us reach out to thousands of people and give them the chance to experience live music that they will never forget.

By our 90th Birthday, our goal is to raise £9,000 in order to perform eight schools concerts over the next year and give over 6,500 children, aged 5-11, their first experiences of live orchestral music at CBSO Centre and Symphony Hall.

Donate today and join us in inspiring and thrilling a new generation of audiences with the power of a full symphony orchestra.

Thank you.
