Story
The Clifton College Charities Committee are supporting Temwa and their Carbon Balance initiative for this academic year as we believe the work they do is incredibly important and the climate crisis is the leading issue in today's society.
Temwa work to bring about sustainable community-led development in remote, rural areas of northern Malawi – one of the poorest countries in the world.
Temwa:
- Provide agriculture and forestry training and sustainable growing techniques.
- Plant trees to combat the effects of deforestation and climate change.
- Support HIV testing clinics and HIV support groups and counselling.
- Work with communities to provide them with access to safe clean water and sanitation and hygiene training.
- Help improve children’s literacy skills and fund students through secondary school.
