Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
We've joined together to raise money for charity. You'll see our team fundraising target on the right. Your donation can really help us smash this goal.
We are the Cappuccino Cycling Club, and we plan to celebrate the 2014 Tour de France with panache!
The Cappuccino Cycling Club was founded just 5 years ago in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and in that time we’ve grown from 3 to over 150 members, such is the enthusiasm for our sport in this spa town.
Cycling in our blood. In 1878 Harrogate was the birth place of the world’s first ever cycling club, the Cyclists' Touring Club. In 2014, Harrogate will play host to the Grand Depart of Tour De France, the biggest sporting event in the world.
So how do we plan to celebrate cycling coming home?
LEEDS 2 PARIS
Le Grand Depart, La Grand Arrivee
The idea is for 37 riders to ride from Harewood House, Leeds to the finish line, on the Champs Elysees in Paris, arriving there the day before the professionals race down the most famous finishing straight in world cycling.
The Cappuccino Cycling Club have organised two rides, a 4 day ride setting off on Wednesday 23rd July, and a 3 day ride setting off a day later. Both rides will meet on the Saturday afternoon just outside Paris, so they can cycle in together as a club, resplendent in their special edition Leeds2Paris jerseys. By the time they reach Paris all the riders will have covered in excess of three hundred and thirty miles and will have earned their celebratory glass of bubbly!!
Currently we have 37 riders taking part!

The club would also like to thank the support drivers, who will be manning the food and water stops, as well as providing mechanical help. Without them all the ride will not be possible. Our support team are John Cave, Iain Urquhart, Michelle & Kemp Harrison, Bradley McBain and Richard Snuggs.
The club would like to thank the ride sponsor, Prologue Performance Cycling, for fuelling the Cappuccino’s throughout their journey with energy bars and gels.
The club aim to raise as much money as they can for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity, a cause very close to a lot of cyclists hearts.
