The purpose of UNHCR is to safeguard the rights and well-being of people who have been forced to flee. They work to ensure that everybody has the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another country. 

Recent event have made UNHCR concerned about the prevailing
humanitarian needs within Afghanistan, and urges support to ensure that all those requiring assistance are not forgotten. Bolstered support for the humanitarian response inside Afghanistan itself is urgently needed to deliver assistance to the Afghan people, including some half a million displaced this year alone.

During times of displacement, they provide critical emergency assistance in the form of clean water, sanitation and healthcare, as well as shelter, blankets, household goods and sometimes food. They also arrange transport and assistance packages for people who return home, and income-generationg projects for those who resettle.

Their help transforms broken lives.
