Tour de Dyson 2021 · 9 September 2021

Dyson are fundraising for their chosen charity partner, Alzheimer's Research UK, to help find a cure for dementia!

Story

For my 5th Tour de Dyson on 9th September, I shall be tackling the longest 100 mile cycle route around the top of Cirencester and then down to the hills of the North Wessex Downs; tackling the infamous Dragon Hill Road to crest the Uffington White Horse and the summit past the Hackpen White Horse before returning back to Malmesbury.

I would really appreciate your support in this challenge by donating to  The James Dyson Foundation will kindly be matching the funding too for this great cause.

  • Over 850,000 people live with dementia in the UK and that number is rapidly rising. One in three people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime.
  • At £26 billion each year, dementia costs the health and social care sector more than cancer and heart disease combined. This is expected to rise to more than double to £55 billion by 2040.
  • £20 could fund one hour of ground-breaking research.
  • £50 could provide access to specialist equipment for studying cells.
  • £250 could pay for a genetic test to help identify dementia risk genes.
