CDI is a student-led charity implementing innovative development initiatives in the wider community of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, alongside our local partners, Kite DSM. Our projects include Sanitation (WaSH), Health, Education, and Entrepreneurship!

Story

CDI is a student-run, non-profit organization that improves the wellbeing of community members in the schools, informal settlements, and wider communities of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. CDI empowers student leaders in the United Kingdom and Tanzania to catalyse change in their societies through innovative projects in the areas of healthcare, education, entrepreneurship, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH).

Over the past 5 years, the WaSH project has designed and built the first simplified sewerage network in East Africa. This has enabled 475 people to access sustainable sanitation in the informal settlement of Vingunguti.

This year, we are very excited to continue this amazing work, focusing on raising WaSH standards in schools and the community. Any donations will be very much appreciated and will contribute directly to WaSH project costs rather than to personal volunteer expenses.
