URGENT: Important Information- postponement until further notice due to Corona virus

Due to Corona Virus aircraft the Wing Walk has been postponed until further notice. I shall be wing walking on a bi-plane. I am a military man from a military family. I myself served 30 years in the Army, my wife served in the RAF and my son has also served for the Army.

Helping those currently serving, veterans and all of their families is a cause I am passionate about.

At lunchtime 22nd February 1972: the news media
reported that, A Massive Bomb Kills Six at Aldershot Barracks.

Five women and a priest were killed in an IRA bomb attack on
the 6th Parachute Regiment Brigade Headquarters at Aldershot,
Hampshire.

A massive car bomb had exploded in a car park outside the
officers’ mess, killing five female kitchen staff, a Padre, and injured 19
others of which I was one. I also believe that a gardener was killed.

The force of the blast was felt in Aldershot town centre.

I was walking close to the Officers Mess at that time and
was thrown to the ground but I was saved by a large earth mound that was
between me and the bomb.

I new by instinct what it might be and I ran over the mound
to see if I could be of any help. It was a devastating sight, and even now I
find it difficult to adequately describe. Parachute Regiment soldiers began
arriving on the site very quickly, and being very well organised, they had the
area roped off in double quick time.

Many agencies, including SSAFA, were assisting in the
aftermath. And I believe that they still were many years afterwards.

I suffered an injury to my left heal only, though the
medical officer at the Army School of Physical Training, told me that  my
injury may manifest itself later in life. And sure enough it has, but it is
quite manageable.
