Story
Team Celaton, comprising of Richard Hill, Mike Walsh, Jack Thorley & Ray Sothcott, is tackling 'Extra-Mile's Cote-d'Or Challenge'.
A gruelling 3 day, 500+ mile cycle challenge through France, from Troyes to Monts du Charolais for charity (Willen Hospice, Medical Detection Dogs and Carers in Bedfordshire).
Our key philosophy is helping and supporting the local area, especially our many great charities. This is why this year we want to donate the majority of the money raised to the Medical Detection Dogs charity. Their work training dog’s to detect the odour of human diseases is nothing short of astounding, training dog’s to identify diseases such as cancer.
They also provide alert dogs for those with other very dangerous health conditions including:
- Addisonian crisis which causes severe pain, convulsions and unconsciousness.
- Narcolepsy, a malfunction of the sleep/wake regulating system which causes sleep attacks and paralysis.
- Detecting low blood sugar for individuals with diabetes

Not only does money go to Medical Detecton Dogs, but Willen Hospice and Carers in Bedfordshire will also recieve some of the donated money. Both charities do amazing work in the local area - even more reason to press the donate button!
We start peddling on the 21 September, for some that’s only 1 month into training, which makes it all the more challenging! We believe that with our determination and your support we can make a difference for these charities so get donating! Every penny counts.
