Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are planning to walk the London Virtual Marathon (26.2 miles) on Sunday 2 October 2022! Please sponsor us to raise funds for this amazing charity, who help people struggling with their emotional and mental health. Thank you for your support!
Some more info: Kintsugi Hope is a charity based in the UK striving to make a difference to people's mental wellbeing. They want to see a world where mental and emotional health is understood and accepted, with safe and supportive communities for everyone to grow and flourish.
'Kintsugi' (金継ぎ) is a Japanese technique for repairing pottery with seams of gold. The word means 'golden joinery' in Japanese. This repairs the brokenness in a way that makes the object more beautiful, and even more unique than it was prior to being broken. Instead of hiding the scars it makes a feature of them.
The stress and demands of modern living are taking their toll on our mental health and wellbeing. Author Brené Brown believes that we live in "the most medicated, addicted, overweight cohort of history". The majority of us may feel the affect, but don't fully understand the cause. Many of us don't even feel comfortable talking about our mental wellbeing.
Please consider sponsoring us so Kintsugi Hope can carry on with their vital and timely work.
