Celine Gerry Brewbaker was born with Port Wine Stains that cover 40% of her body on August 10, 2016. She was diagnosed with Sturge-Weber Syndrome two days later, which is caused by a rare gene mutation during the first trimester of pregnancy. Celine’s brain, left eye, right hand/arm, and leg, are all affected by this. She started having medically resistant seizures when she was 13 months old and underwent a hemispherectomy in September, 2019, where her left side of her brain was detached from the right. This has stopped her seizures, but her right hand/arm partially paralyzed. Her right side of her body is weaker than her left, due to SWS affecting the left side of her brain.
