2018 Global Partners' Conference (CE)

Hogan Lovells Continental Europe · 30 June 2018 to 30 June 2019 ·
How can we help rural women in the developing world rise out of poverty? There are many solutions, but at Barefoot College, the solution lies in the Barefoot solar mamas, the women setting the world alight one solar panel at a time.
Barefoot College has developed an innovative program where women learn how to make solar panels, install the panels in the villages, and become self-employed engineers who generate development in their communities.
From the beginning of 2017 until the end of 2019, we will engage our people, our clients, and our communities to help Barefoot triple its number of international beneficiaries by
• Training 400 solar mamas in 35 countries
• Solar electrifying 20,000 households
• Providing 200,000 people with access to clean light
We'll do this through a combination of Pro Bono legal advice, Community Investment volunteering, and financial support through Touch.
