Great Manchester Run 2021 · 26 September 2021 ·

The Wellspring is a vital lifeline for those facing homelessness. We are more than a support service; we are a dedicated team offering practical resources, compassionate support, and tailored guidance to help individuals rebuild their lives.

Story

On 6th September 2020 I will be running the Great Manchester
Run Half Marathon as part of Team Siemens for our site Charity of the Year - The Wellspring.

Following my move to Manchester I was taken back by the number
of people sleeping rough around Greater Manchester, the reasons people end up in this situation and how hard it is to get into accommodation.

At The WellSpring they understand the complexity of the
problem of homelessness within Greater Manchester and provide services to homeless and disadvantaged people 365 days a year. The WellSpring aims to support people out of homelessness and to become independent of services.

The WellSpring provides end to end support to homeless and
disadvantaged people providing: educational courses, professional support, food service, clothing or just a cup of tea and a chat to anyone who needs it.

Before 24th May 2020 I aim to:

- Raise at least £500 in donations for The WellSpring

- Volunteer for 500 minutes at The WellSpring Centre

- Donate 2 rucksacks to The Rucksack Project

- Run 500 miles in training

- Break a ½ marathon time of 2 hours

COVID-19 Update: Following the outbreak of COVID-19 Great Manchester run has been postponed to 6th September 2020. I will be adhering to the latest government advice when training for and competing this challenge.
