Story
Hello lovelies! I have left this a little bit late – but I am running a 10K in the morning and am hoping to help cancer research raise some money for the amazing work they do. A lot of people have either personally been affected by cancer or have someone close / or within their family who has been. The odds are currently very unfortunate with 1 in 3 people being estimated to be touched by cancer at some point in their lives. Luckily cancer research is working very hard to lower those odds – and to make cancer a disease in which more and more people can fight and eventually receive the long hoped for “all clear”. As well as the inner strength that those diagnosed with cancer through it – so much credit goes to the amazing medical breakthroughs from cancer research into ways in which to prevent the disease spreading and send it into remission. And whilst the odds are that 33% of the UK population will be touched or affected by cancer – cancer research is trying to drastically lower these odds and increase the percentage of people who go in to remission and who get the all clear. And that is amazing work. And I hope that one day hearing the diagnosis of cancer won’t have the associations it has currently but that people would feel safe and hopeful in the knowledge that there is known effective treatment for the disease and their life, dreams and relationships will live on after this blip in health – I believe with the great advances being made in research that one day this will happen. But cancer research does rely on donations to make this a reality – if you are unable to donate that is fair enough, we have all been in positions of not being able to but do go to their website and have a gander at some of their amazing research it is an interesting read – outsounding and informative. If you are able to donate, even £3 would go a long way and help make a huge difference. Donating isn’t about me running, it’s so much bigger then that - it’s about wanting to help find a cure for cancer. At the end of the day this is about helping the charity cancer research, it’s about the amazing work that they do to help suffers keep their strength and hope and help them come out the other side able to throw themselves back into life again. Thank you in advance for all support (both monetary and otherwise) – it is an amazing charity that deserves every penny! Ceri xxx
