Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am probably mad, but I have decided to take part in the Great South Run 2019 to raise money for MHA.
MHA originally standed for Methodist Homes for the Aged. MHA provides a variety of activities, groups and care in your home or, one of thier care homes aiming to "help older people to lead safer, more active and fulfilled lives." It also helps to "eliminate lonliness and isolation in our communities."
I have chosen to run for MHA because in 2013 my Father-in-Law had an aquired brain injury and is serverly disabled as a result. Over the past 6 years he has gone to many, many different groups and organisations taking part in a wide variety of activities, but the singing group / choir put on by MHA is by far the group he enjoys going to most, and goes with least resistance! He enjoys it so much he now sings twice a week! Singing twice a week with MHA also gives my Mother-in-Law some very much needed respite from his continual care needs.
He likes the singing group so much he has recruited his elderly next door neighbour to join in with him, and she loves the singing group too!
I have always fancied doing the GSR and feel that this is a good charity to raise money for whilst taking an activity off my own bucket list!
