In memory of Chandrika Fatania
Amyloidosis is a rare, often fatal disease, caused by accumulation of protein fibres, amyloid, in the tissues. The Fund provides invaluable support for research and patients in the National Amyloidosis Centre at the Royal Free Hospital.

Story

Our mother, Chandrika Fatania was diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis in August 2021. She fought so bravely and without complaint for 5 months. We sadly lost her on 27th December 2021.

Amyloidosis is a rare disease caused by build up of abnormal protein fibres, called amyloid, within the tissues and organs. Amyloidosis can affect any part of the body and lead to life threatening organ failure. There are about 6,000 cases in the UK at any time.

The staff at the Amyloidosis Centre at The Royal Free Hospital in London are working so hard to find out what causes it and how to beat it. The care they gave to Mum was incredible, they are all such wonderful people.

Please donate anything you can to help.

All our love, The Fatania Family xxx
