1310 Flt 25 press ups for 25 days · 6 August 2020

Since 1885, thanks to the public's support, we continue to provide welfare and wellbeing assistance tailored to our Armed Forces community. We know and understand the unique demands of service life, whether in the UK or overseas, and in times of need, we help to enable the Forces family to thrive.

Story

I am Flt Lt McDonald and I was nominated by Marc Burgess to do the 25 push-ups for 25 days challenge to hopefully raise awareness of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety and depression that drive people to commit suicide.

From 2000-2019, over 300 suicides occurred among UK Regular Armed Forces personnel.

On completing this I have nominated 1310Flt, Chinook Detachment to do the challenge while on Operations in Mali, some will even do this wearing 20kgs of body armour. The event will start on 6th August and last until the 30th August.

1310 Flt includes personnel from,

RAF Odiham

Joint Helicopter Support Squadron (JHSS)

Tactical Supply Wing (TSW)

And the Army's Royal Signals.

Let's all reach as many people as possible. Let's hope by doing this we can build awareness for anyone who is suffering from a mental illness. You are not alone and we are here for you.
