Story
For years I've dreamt of completing the Munro's in a self-propelled (walk, run, cycle, kayak and paddle board) traverse, across the wildest parts of Scotland. At the end of nearly four decades in the Army serving all over the world, I'm on a mission to reconnect with Scotland.
- Whats a Munro? = 3000ft mountain in Scotland
- How many Munro's are there? = 282
- How far? = over 2,400Km
- When? = Start 3rd Apr 2023
- How long? = about 110 days
Day one starts on the Isle of Mull with a climb up Ben More, a cycle to the coast and a four hour sea kayak to Oban on the mainland. From there the route crosses Scotland, eventually finishing near Cape Wrath in Sutherland sometime in July! You'll be able to follow my progress with a live tracker and following @euanchallenge282 on Instagram.
Charities - I'm raising money for St Mungo's whose mission is to 'end homelessness'. I've been a first responder in London for the last three years and have seen first hand the tragedy of rough sleeping. People end up on our streets for lots of different reasons, sometimes just having someone to talk to can make all the difference. The Samaritans are always there for you, they cover the whole of UK, often support our veterans and complement St Mungo's. Please share your support between these great charities.
Of course, this adventure wouldn't be possible without support from my family, friends and our military family who are always there for you.
