Story

Hi, my name is Johannes or Jannie (Yanni) for short. I am a normal guy, nothing particularly special about me. I have never climbed Everest, invented a rocket propelled vehicle, or anything like that.

Compassion and empathy for others is probably the greatest strength of my character. I always do my best to help those less fortunate. That is why I am embarking on what will be the greatest physical and mental challenge of my life.

Starting on 25th May 2022 I will be running/hiking the entire length of the U.K's South West Coast Path. The path is 630miles (1000km) long and is the U.K's longest continuous footpath.

Starting in Minehead, North Devon, I will follow the path South all the way to Lands End, from which I will then head East/North East. This will take me back up through Cornwall and will eventually lead me to the end of the path in Poole, Dorset. I have set myself a target of finishing within 40 days.

My reason for this undertaking is to raise both funds and awareness for a charity called Share Tanzania. The charity is based in East Africa and supports  thousands of children as well as families living in crisis. Share Tanzania also run Tanzania's 2nd largest animal rescue and are one of the only charities dealing with the countries special needs population.

I visited Share Tanzania as a volunteer in 2018 and was blown away by the impact that they were having across the whole of the country! Being able to see first hand where my donations were being used as well as meeting children who I had been supporting was a life changing experience and one I shall treasure forever.

Before becoming involved with Share Tanzania I was always dubious about giving to charity. After witnessing first hand the life changing work that they do, I can unequivocally say that 100% of the money donated goes directly where it is needed. One of the organisations moto's is: "Companies measure in profit. Our profit is measured in smiles!" This in my opinion is exactly how charities should operate.

By supporting this fundraiser, you will be helping to build a new, state of the art children's village. This children's village will be specifically designed to function as a loving, caring environment for children and adults with special needs. Physio and occupational therapy departments as well as a medical care facility will all be self contained within the new children's village.

In addition, full time accommodation, cooking facilities and nature gardens to relax and soothe the children will also be built. This will ultimately mean that hundreds of families living in abject poverty and struggling to raise children with special needs will be able to get the support that they need, in a loving, caring environment.

This truly is a great cause and if you are like me and want to live in a loving, caring world where all are treated equally then supporting this fundraiser is a very good place to start! The support that you give will be life changing on so many levels for these children and families. Lets all do our best to make this happen.

Thank you for reading this and for considering to share, no donation is to small. If you would like to find out more about Share Tanzania please visit www.Sharetanzania.com or visit the YouTube channel of the same name. Love and Light everybody! :) x

Share Tanzania directly supports work in rural Tanzania, in the foot hills of Mount Kilimanjaro. The goal is simple, to alleviate poverty, and improve the lives of vulnerable children living in the area, of which there are many. Here at Share Tanzania we believe that a solution to many of the issues we see ourselves and others facing here on earth lays in the simple action of sharing. Sharing our time, resources, love and ideas can help to heal a great deal in this world. Share Tanzania provides a direct link to Africa which allows all funds raised to go directly to those in need. Share Tanzania is run entirely voluntarily which means all the money that arrives in Tanzania is put directly to good use by supporting the Feathers Tale Children’s Village, Uchira Children’s Fund, Angels Gate Centre for Street Involved Children, Kilimanjaro Animal Rescue, Community and Environmental Projects which are the foundations for our work.
