HELLO GIVERS, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After.......................
'I did it' !!!!!!!!!!! Wow - what an experience!
I finally got to jump on Sunday 23rd May after a postponement the week before due to the volcanic ash. It's very difficult to describe the experience of the jump but I'm proud of myself for not even thinking of backing out! I'm hoping to upload the video soon so keep looking and maybe it will encourage a few more of you to go for it (or maybe not!)
I'm hoping you won't stop giving just yet - I'm a little bit short of my target! (but glad the skydiver wasn't short of his!)
Thanks to everyone who has supported me both with funds and with words - it means a great deal to me and the animals at the Rochdale Branch who will benefit.
Before.....................
For those who dont know me, I am the Deputy Manager at Rochdale RSPCA.
In a moment of madness I have commited myself to doing a tandem skydive to raise money for Rochdale Rspca. It is something I have wanted to do for a long time but never plucked up the nerve. After talking to friends and colleagues I decided I was going to do it before I reached 30!! Hopefully I'll still reach 30!!
Just for someone to terrify myself with I have found another mad person, Natalie from Wendy Lanes Vets is going to jump on the same plane as me, she is jumping for Christies. It will be good to be able to spur each other on.
I am hoping you will all see this is no mean feat...so the more money raised will make it all the more worthwhile, and I'l have lots of pennies to count while my broken leg recovers!! (I hope this does'nt happen!)
Please give as much or as little as you can, every penny in our centre is essential to the wellbeing of the rescued animals in our care. So if you are an animal lover and want to help, or a friend who just wants to make sure I cant back out, please give below.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
A BIG BIG THANKYOU FOR YOUR TIME AND INTEREST, I will keep you all updated.
Chan
