Thanks for taking the time to visit Chandlers JustGiving page.

On 18th August, we are going to cycle from Chandlers Petworth branch to the Ringmer branch, a journey of approximately 42 miles. 

This journey was the idea of Jason our Petworth Branch Manager. Last year, he suffered a heart attack & his recovery has been life-changing. Hear Jason's story in his own words:

"In late August 2017, my life changed forever. I had a heart attack and bypass surgery. At the age of 53, it felt like it was all over really and I was never again going to be able to climb that metaphorical mountain. Well I was wrong… I soon appreciated, with complete clarity, that it's down to me and if I got through this (also along with the aid of a great surgical team), then I was going to make sure that I did all I could to make a difference to my future."

Jason's challenge has grown into a personal challenge not just for him but for anyone who wants to make a difference to their own life or somebody else's life. Chandlers wanted to support Jason and indeed everyone participating in this event, who will all make a difference and by donating you will make that ripple out further as you support the work of the Construction Industry Helpline. This is run by the Lighthouse Club and is a confidential 24/7 helpline available to anyone in the construction industry and their family for help with everything from financial to mental health issues.  With 1 in 4 people working in construction considering suicide, it is a very much needed service and a life saver for those who have nowhere else to turn.
