BerkoAstro: The Channel Chubs
on 9 June 2011

*** We completed our channel swim on Tuesday 30th August in 14hrs 20mins. ***
Not a fast swim, but we did it. Frustratingly we missed Cap Gris Nez (which added 2 hours to the swim) because of a really strong tide. We ended up landing on a small beach between Cap Gris Nez and Calais.
The team are all very pleased to have completed the swim and I don't think the achievement has sunk in yet.
A really big thankyou to everyone who supported us and it's not too late to support us if you haven't already!! Another really big thankyou to those who followed us on facebook. It was great to get all the messages of support during the swim.
Finally, there are many people who made this event possible and I would like to thank all of them. I especially would like to thank my sister Niki who did a great job as the support crew looking after us all which meant we could focus on the swimming.
