Blood Cancer UK Blenheim Palace Triathlon 2020 · 12 September 2020 to 13 September 2020 ·

Are you a Weekend Warrior at the Blood Cancer UK Blenheim Palace Triathlon 2020? Help us to raise £20,000, by continuously swimming, cycling and running to beat blood cancer!

Story

*Target increased* As a result of everyone's incredible generosity in their donations to Blood Cancer UK, at first I doubled my target from £400 to £800, and have now upped it to £1,000. Thank you to everyone who has donated  - you're amazing!!

The Challenge

On 12th September I'll be doing the Blenheim Palace Sprint Triathlon (750m swim; 19.8K bike; 5.4k run) for Blood Cancer UK.

I've left fundraising a little late as I was waiting for confirmation that the event would be on - which I have now received!

I've had a slightly similar approach to training... which perhaps wasn't a sensible idea... so any donations will make the next month worth it for this very special charity! It was 4 years ago that I did my last sporting event so there's a lot of work to do!

Thanks so much for any donations xxx

Explore Registering as a Blood Stem Cell Donor

Whilst I have your attention I would like to encourage you to explore registering as a blood stem cell donor. There is a common misconception that becoming a stem cell donor involves a very invasive procedure but in 90% of cases, the donation procedure is similar to giving blood (but for a few hours). To register, you just have to do a simple mouth swab and send it off in the post. You will then only be called in to donate if a tissue match is found. About Blood Cancer UK

Blook Cancer UK (formerly Bloodwise) are the UK's leading blood cancer research charity. Blood cancer is the fifth most common cancer in the UK. And while huge progress has been made in improving treatment since we started in 1960, it is still the third biggest cause of UK cancer deaths taking more lives each year than breast or prostate cancer. Everything we do is focused on improving the lives of everyone affected by blood cancer. Research: We fund research to improve treatment and care for people living with all types of blood cancer, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Support & information: We provide everyone affected by blood cancer with information they can trust, in language they can understand. Campaign: We are the voice of the 240,000 people in the UK with blood cancer at senior levels of Government, Parliament and the NHS.
