 Chara Bowl Charity Rugby Match

ROYAL MARINES RFC v SIR IAN McGEECHAN OBE INVITATION XV

All proceeds to be donated to Royal Marines & Royal Navy charities

Last year saw the inaugral Chara Bowl competed for between a Royal Marines XV v Ex Guinness Premiership XV, which included former England Internationals Dave Sims, David Rees & Phil Greening and England 7's star David Scully. The match was end to end with each side scoring 8 tries a piece in a fantastic match and amazingly finished 50 - 48 in favour of the Royal Marines with a late Jason Mills try.

This years team was led by Scotland & British & Irish Lions legend Sir Ian McGeechan and the Invitation XV featuring former England Stars Dave Sims, Graham Dawe and Kev Dunn, Scotland and '93 British Lion Damian Cronin as well as 8 others with representative honours avenged last years defeat by beating the Royal Marines RFC 32 - 19

With 40 Commando currently deployed in Helmand, Afghanistan it is crucial that support for the Servicemen & women and their families continue and you can help by donating through this justgiving website.

Chara Foundation (www.charafoundation.org) aim to raise both funds and the profile of injured servicemen & women and support charities such as Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, BLESMA, RM & RN charities, Combat Stress, SSAFA and Veterans Aid.
