Raising £20k in 30 days. · 5 November 2012

We provide support to older, frail, isolated residents of Poplar and the Isle of Dogs, regardless of age, race, culture or disability. Our services include outreach and befriending, social activities, outings, meal delivery, advocacy and campaigning. And we deliver the LinkAge Plus programme.

Story

This Christmas, Poplar HARCA staff, are on a generous mission, to raise thousands of pounds for a number of local and national charities throughout the UK. The magnitude of the challenge is second to none in the history of Poplar HARCA staff. The idea was born out of our Annual Staff Conference, which this year is themed on the hit BBC show, The Apprentice.

The challenge set is for individual departments to get together and raise as much money as possible for their local charities, competing against their fellow departments. With six departments battling it out for the chance to win The Apprentice experience and of course, the feel good factor of being crowned champions, the atmosphere is already brewing with healthy competition.

We have come together to raise £20K in 30 days for three of our chosen charities, charities which are close to our hearts and do a tremendous job in supporting people.
