Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I bet you never thought you'd see the day when I would be taking part in a Pramathon. Well the day is soon….Yes folks at 10am on Saturday 20th September 2008 in Dulwich Park, I will be walking 5K while pushing my daughter in her pram, aiming to raise money for Tommy's The Baby Charity.
Tommy's is a medical research charity determined to end the heartache caused by problems during pregnancy (such as Pre-eclampsia, which I experienced) premature birth, miscarriage and stillbirth. The charity funds a national programme of research, education and information aimed at understanding and preventing these tragedies.
As you may know my daughter spent the first 2½ weeks of her life in a Special Care Baby Unit due to having a low birth weight, which was a direct result of my pre-eclampsia. Thanks to God and the hospital staff she was able to leave the hospital and she is a happy, healthy little chatterbox. Unfortunately not all babies and their parents are as fortunate as us, and this is why I will be taking part in the Pramathon.
I am walking 5K to try and help prevent another parent having to experience the trauma of a completed pregnancy or birth, and I am asking you to give as little or as much as you can in support.
Remember your donation will help thousands of lives and ensure Tommy's continue their research into problems during pregnancy, premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage.
Thank you for taking time to do this. I know how busy you are and really appreciate it. Wish me luck!!
Charlene xx
