Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Together with 7 colleagues I am taking part in the Ride London-Surrey 100 on 29 July in aid of our chosen charity, the National Autistic Society.
Autism is much more common than most people think. There are around 700,000 autistic people in the UK - that's more than 1 in every 100. We tend to hear quite a bit about Aspergic children or adults with extraordinary capabilities but for many autistic people the reality of day to day life can be immensely challenging. If you have autism you only have a 1 in 4 chance of continuing your education beyond school; you are more likely to develop mental health problems from bullying, being judged and a general lack of understanding from the public.
The NAS is the UK's leading charity for autistic people and their families. Since the Charity began over 50 years ago, they have been pioneering new ways to understand the condition. They provide life-changing support and advice to autistic people and their families as well as supporting professionals, politicians and the public to understand autism better so that more autistic people can be understood, supported and appreciated for who they are.
Please give generously; many thanks.
