Story
As a staff, at Charles Williams Primary, we wanted to show our support to one of our dearest members of staff, during a particularly difficult time for her and her family. With Prostate Cancer UK being a charity very close to their hearts, we thought raising money for this amazing cause would be the perfect way to do this.
As a team, we will complete 1000km for £1000 (although we hope to raise a lot more than this). This will involve us collectively walking 300km, running 100km and cycling 600km!
We are overwhelmed with how many people have signed up to take part - around 30 people currently. Some of us will be running, some of us will be cycling, some of us will be walking and those of us brave/crazy enough, will be attempting all three!
Since announcing our challenge, we have teamed up with members of Dalmatian Bike Ride. They will be completing an additional 1000km road cycle. As a result, we have increased our total target to £2000.
In males in the UK, prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer, with more than 47,500 new cases each year - that's 129 men every day. Thus, not only will your donations help us express our support, they will also go far in fighting this life-destroying disease.
