Story
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Just over 10 years ago I lost my younger brother James suddenly as a result of a road traffic accident whilst he was cycling training in Singapore, where he lived at the time and worked as a lawyer. He was only 34 years old and had lots of exciting plans ahead of him, it was a very sad time. It is true what they say that the sorrow and grief never really goes, you just learn to live with it. One of the things that has helped me is to think of him a lot and he was very much in to his sport and fitness and I think he would be very interested in me attempting to run a marathon. Which brings me to the present moment. I am going to attempt the Paris marathon as my first one and I am targeting a time of under 5 hours. I am fundraising for my firm's Charity which is Demelza, the hospice and care provider for unwell children and their families. This is a very worthy cause and in addition all donations will be matched by LGT so your money goes twice as far.
Losing someone close to you is always difficult and can be more so when it is before their time. Sometimes the temptation is to put head in sand but I believe over the longer term a healthier strategy is to cherish the memories and sometimes linger in them. Running gives a great opportunity for this. It will be a very healing few months for me so thank you again for taking the time in reading this because it means that you too have remembered James for this moment and that is very welcome. Thank you!
