The Vegetarian Society is a campaigning charity bringing the benefits of plant-based eating to all! We campaign to make changes happen that need to happen. Changes to help people. To help the planet. And to help animals.

Story

Hi folks!

I'm taking a long walk with my wife and some dear friends because ... well, in many ways just because. Because it will be fun. Because it will be challenging. Because it's a way to celebrate living near the historic and beautiful Thames river.

Many of you know already that Jen and I are both vegetarians. My vegetarianism is not out of a sense of moral or ethical or religious obligation. For the most part, I am vegetarian because I'm exercising a personal choice that simply makes me feel better about myself and my life. But there is an aspect of vegetarianism that aligns with something that I feel strongly is important for all of us: the drive for sustainability.

For the good of everybody and everything on the planet, we need to "think small". We need to consume less. We need to pollute less. We need to stop defining economic success as perpetual growth. We need to do all these things in ways that don't destroy the good that we have created over the centuries, and in ways that will continue to sustain us into the centuries to come.

So with this walk I'm supporting the Vegetarian Society, and the work it does to support sustainability. Please give generously. Thank you.
