Help a London Child - BUPA Great Capital Run · 20 July 2008 ·

Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund in partnership with Cancer Research UK, following the death of her husband, Bobby Moore, from bowel cancer. The Bobby Moore Fund is now a leader in the fight against bowel cancer, funding research that’s helping more people to survive than ever before.

Story

On Sunday 20th July 2008 I will be taking part in the BUPA Great Capital Run '08 in Hyde Park, London. I will be running on behalf of The Bobby Moore Fund, which is part of Cancer Research UK.

The Bobby Moore Fund helps to raise money and awareness for bowel cancer research. It was created in the memory of Legendary, World Cup winning footballer Bobby Moore- who died from the cancer in 1993, aged only 51. To date the charity has raised over £9 million pounds.

During '08 I will also be taking part in the Keep Your Eye On The Ball '08 run in Victoria Park, which is in connection with 'The FA' and 'Everyman' - a testicular cancer charity.

Competing in these runs will help me to improve for the Chelsea and Westminster London Duathlon 2008, which I will be taking part in on Sunday 14th September 2008 at Richmond Park, London. This will be 10km run, 20km bike and another 5km run. I will be running this with close friends Ian Ling and Karl Skelton - to prove who the fittest really is!

My fundraising target for the my 10km run is £100, but I am aiming to break this and raise as much as I possibly can- please help me to achieve this and take the time to sponser me online, no matter how little, it all makes a huge difference.

Donating through this site is really simple, fast and secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you- don't forget to tick the 'gift-aid' box.

Many thanks for all of your help and support.
