Charlie's Swim Club Challenge - in aid of St. Peter's Hospice · 23 September 2017

We've been providing tailored and holistic care to those in need in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset area for over 40 years. At your home or ours, we provide care without prejudice, regardless of condition, religion, beliefs or age - and always with your best interests at heart.

Story

Charlie is fundraising for St Peter's Hospice in appreciation of the support that they are giving to his dad, Bjorn, during his current illness. A swimming event seemed the obvious choice due to Bjorn's life-long involvement with the sport, nearly 10 years of which have been spent at Backwell Swimming Club. The event will be held on 23rd September at 5pm at Backwell Leisure Centre.

Charlie and Backwell Swimming Club would like to thank Legacy Leisure for their donation of free pool time to host this event.

Charlie will also be doing an individual challenge on Saturday 26th August, when he will be swimming 2.7km / 108 lengths (the distance from his house to Backwell Leisure Centre) as fast as possible.

St Peter's Hospice is Bristol's ONLY adult hospice caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses. Their commitment is to improve the quality of life of patients while extending care and support to their families and loved ones. All of their care is provided free of charge, but it costs them around £20,000 a day to provide that care. For most of this money they rely on Gifts in Wills, donations, fundraising and their shops.
