Story
My mum (Sally Mason) and I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon together to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity on 3rd April 2022.
My best friend Andy was diagnosed with a Grade 3 Astrocytoma in February 2020 and has since undergone surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. This has left him requiring intensive physiotherapy to slowly regain the use of his motor skills and help him get his life back on track. This in an ongoing battle. The surgery removed 95% of the tumour but he has recently found out that there is a reoccurrence and is now beginning another course of treatment to combat the tumour's growth.
My mum also has several friends who have sadly been affected by brain tumours and we both feel strongly that more research on this devastating illness is necessary.
As a non-runner this will be a big challenge for myself. My mum, a keen runner, is devising a training plan for me which will hopefully see me racking up the miles rather than my bar tab!
I really hope you can support us by donating and coming along on the day to cheer us on.
A massive thank you from us both in advance x
