The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and reading about what we're doing. I know and apologise that this is a long section of text but please take a couple of minutes to read it.

Team Charlie is made up of Ben Shove, Emma Shove, Zak Warwood, Harry Howell, Abi Turner, Muhummad Pangarker Jack Baldwin, Louis Lovell, Zac Lucas, Sydnie Kelly, Paul Kelly Ayub Pangarker and Charlie Spall.

For many who knew Charlie they will all know that he was an outgoing and active young man who sadly died earlier this year. Charlie left a mark on everyone who he met with his cheeky mannerisms and charming ways. He was someone who loved the outdoors and the outdoor lifestyle and would spend as much time as possible outside, doing anything possible to be outside.

He had a huge impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him and there was certainly never a dull or boring moment when he was around. As a way of remembering him and raising money for a truly inspiring and phenomenal charity we will all be undertaking the challenge of completing the London to Brighton bike ride on 8th September 2013.

The Prince's Trust are a charitable organization who, in their own words, give 'practical and financial support to the young people who need it most. We help develop key skills, confidence and motivation, enabling young people to move into work, education or training.' Their aim is to seek out the potential in each young person they come across, and in whatever way, maximize this potential. This is not always through simply helping them to gain an education and qualifications but through developing other skills, such as communication and confidence. They do this through a number of different ways involving education, funding and outdoor activities. We all therefore feel that this is the most appropriate charity to raise money for, whilst doing something in memory of Charlie.

We have not set ourselves an official fundraising target, our one aim is to come together as a group and remember an amazing young man, whilst having some fun. We are planning on undertaking some group training sessions over weekends, so if you see a large group of cyclists around Kent then please give us some form of support.

Of course whilst we have no official target any amount of money that you can afford to donate would be greatly appreciated and gratefully received by The Prince's Trust. Even if it is just £1 it all helps and will be put to good use by the charity through one of their projects.

For all of you who had the pleasure of knowing or meeting Charlie Booth I know that I will not have to continually tell you or remind you how wonderful he was, so if it is not for our sake that you make a donation today, please do it for Charlie.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
