Story
Hi everyone, our names are Charlie Ferris and Harvey Pike. We are setting up this page because there is something we want to talk about. That is MENTAL HEALTH and the impact it can have on your life. This is something that me and Harvey have really had to deal with, understand and admit with everything that has gone on with COVID-19 and lockdowns. COVID 19 came as a shock to all of us last March. A virus that meant we had to be lockdown as a country to stop the spread of the virus, this came with lot of consequences. Not being able to see our loved ones -both our family and friends. Not being able to do the things that we love and putting our lives to a complete STOP. With this, it meant for a lot of us our mental health was put to the test in a way no one would have imagined. Both of us have already had to deal with our mental health to a certain extent before the lockdown, but no one was prepared for what was about to go on in the world.

“I can say I am in the best place mentally I think I’ve ever been. After finally admitting to myself that there was something not quite right and dealing with it after being embarrassed to speak out about it for many years. I can finally say I’ve learnt so much about myself and I now have the tools, the coping mechanisms and a bit of experience to help me with situations in the future. One of these tools is running. The feeling I get after a good run is the best. I want to show as many people that have been in the same situation as me that you aren’t alone and we can help!”
Harvey pike,
“I have faced my own battles with mental health, going on a journey and facing challenges along the way. For me exercise has always been a mental release, a coping mechanism and a positive way of dealing with it that I'm grateful I have in my life. With gyms being shut down, it meant to train you had to get creative and look for new methods of exercising. For me it was running, getting outdoors and pushing my limits. I can now say I'm in the best place physically and mentally I have ever been. I want to help as many people discover the incredible benefits exercise can have physically and mentally.”
Why :
We are doing this challenge because we both know the power of exercise and what it can do to improve your mental health. We want to get as many people as we can, to get active, feeling good and pushing themselves. So why not join this challenge? We also want to raise money for MIND charity Bristol, to help with resources.
What :
This a challenged for everyone!!!!
The start date for this challenge is 19/01/21. We understand everybody has different abilities so, you can either pick from 50k, 100k, or 200k. Or you can own personal challenge to suit your own ability. This will be done over 30 days to complete this challenge. You don’t have to run/walk it every day, as long as you hit the target in the 30days that’s the plan. You can either run it, walk it, or do it one if you’re brave enough 🤣 We want you to track your progress, sharing it to our page on Instagram and tagging us. We will also have a whatsapp group to keep each other inspired, motivated and safe place to talk about mental health.
