I had already decided my 2020 challenge was going to be my first half marathon. In December 2019, I decided to run for the Stroke Association after my friend Mike had a stroke aged 51. This was a massive shock, but Hayley (his wife) has been amazing and says she has been supported by the Stroke Association from day one.

I made friends and got to know Hayley when we ran together on holiday and now she's coming to run Bath too with Ruth Hughes who is running the London Marathon this year - an inspirational team!

Rebuilding lives after stroke is a team effort. It takes the determination of stroke survivors and carers, the generosity of supporters like yourself and the dedication of the healthcare and research communities.
