We buy cutting edge medical equipment to benefit patients in Hampshire

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I’m running the London 2021 Marathon to raise money for the Hampshire Medical Fund.

Why am I doing this?

Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals have helped my family through a couple of particularly scary moments during the past ten years and I would like to give something back. The brilliant doctors and care professionals in our local hospitals deserve to work with the best equipment and facilities and these are exactly what the Hampshire Medical Fund helps provide; all money raised by the Hampshire Medical Fund is used to purchase state-of-the-art medical devices and apparatus, which help keep our Hampshire hospitals at the forefront of medical excellence. I am eternally grateful for the expert care our local doctors and nurses have provided my family and hence I‘m running to ensure many more individuals and families can enjoy the same level of professionalism for years to come.

Are there any other reasons?

It would be remiss not to mention the opportunity to butter up of my father-in-law who happens to be Chairman of the Hampshire Medical Fund.

Plus I am now over 2 years into fatherhood; there’s no need to introduce the dad-bod yet.

What time am I targeting?

My brother and brother-in-law have both run the marathon in 3hrs 45mins. No pressure.

How can you help?

Aside from any armchair support and advice to help me through training, I would massively appreciate you reaching for your pocket and donating whatever you can to this amazing charity. Not only will it make a huge difference to the hospitals in Hampshire and the care the local communities receive, but it will also spur me on in my training and make every step worth the effort. Thank you so much in advance!

About the Hampshire Medical Fund:

The charity was established in 1981 to relieve pressure on NHS Trust-funding by purchasing state-of-the-art medical equipment for the three major hospitals in Hampshire: Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover. In doing so, the hospital trusts are able to provide the best care for the Hampshire community and attract some of the best doctors and hospital staff in the country.
