Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2017 · 30 July 2017 ·

The DNRC will provide clinical rehabilitation for the armed forces and civilians. It will combine neurological, complex trauma and a full suite of rehabilitative facilities together on one site, bringing benefits that could make the establishment unique in the world.

Story

I'm taking part in a BAE Systems team to complete the 100 mile Ride London event that follows the original 2012 Olympic Road route.

Your donation will go to the Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre charity which is building a new national centre for our seriously wounded service personnel.  They are moving out of Headley Court (based in the Surrey Hills) to a purpose-built bigger centre in Stanford Hall near Loughborough.

The charity is concerned with the promotion of health through three objectves:

1. Provision of clinical rehabilitation of members of the Armed Forces;

2. The promotion of rehabilitation medicine including research; and

3. The provision of facilities, equipment, or services to restore people who have experienced a disabling disease or injury to optimum physical and psychological function to enable such people to return to and remain in appropriate work.
