The Watkins Family have chosen to create the Charlie Watkins Foundation within Essex Community Foundation. Our new Foundation will honour the memory of Charlie by providing vital grant funding to help assist young people with mental health issues across the country.
There is a growing problem in the UK, which is the lack counselling support for those who need it. This is why the CWF and Mid and North East Essex Mind believe that we can make a change. Chat with Charlie is an online mental health support service which is open to all students of the University of Essex. It operates between 6pm-10pm, seven evenings a week. The service will provide students with a confidential space to talk about any mental health or emotional wellbeing problems they are facing and find out more about the support available to them.
In time we hope that this can be rolled out nation wide to allow not just students at the University of Essex but at universities all over the country to benefit.
