Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My much loved big sister, Anne, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia a few years ago. All dementia is bad but this is a particularly cruel condition as it strikes you when you are still young - Anne was in her mid to late 50s when it started to effect her.
Anne has always been a big character. Full of love and laughter - she was never happier than with a large glass of red wine and listening to a good story. She was devoted to her family - her husband Paul and sons Sam and Josh - and always had a wonderful relationship with her mum, Mary and late father, Brian. Now when she should be enjoying an early retirement and her grandchildren, Joey and Georgia, she is struggling to maintain her connections with those closest to her.
The tragedy of dementia is not limited to those who suffer from it. It extends to their loved ones and their friends. It hurts many people.
Sir Jackie Stewart set up the Race against Dementia charity as his wife suffers from the same condition. I am going to push myself to the limit and do my very best to ride 500 KM over two days in Singapore to raise money for this wonderful charity.
I will be riding with my good friend Noel Tan. Noel will be riding for a different charity which is close to his heart. This is his link:
