Our hospitals serve 900,000 local people. Whilst the NHS provides funding for the necessities, King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity funds projects which enhance the hospital experience for patients, visitors and staff at both Queen’s Hospital, Romford and King George Hospital, Ilford.

Story

I am a volunteer at King George and Queen's Hospital.  I volunteer as a thank you for the wonderful care my wife received when she was unwell with cancer.   I know many volunteers who donate their time as a thank you to the wonderful staff who have saved their lives, or the lives of family and friends.

Every month hundreds of volunteers donate thousands of hours every month, freely to help the NHS.  And BHRUT, our 500 plus volunteers help the organisation function, providing care and support to the patients. Without the volunteers the NHS couldn't function.  As a volunteer all we receive is a lunch or a beverage, this fundraising is so that volunteer's can have an annual thank you party.

I completely appreciate that this is crazy but I have been practicing by jumping off a step at home and I think, how much farther is a few thousand feet more!

As a true Scotsman I am threatening to do this sky dive in my kilt,  so please help us raise £2,000.

On Friday 19 October, look out for the flying Scotsman.
