Abseil down Broadgate Tower · 18 March 2019

Our hospitals serve 900,000 local people. Whilst the NHS provides funding for the necessities, King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity funds projects which enhance the hospital experience for patients, visitors and staff at both Queen’s Hospital, Romford and King George Hospital, Ilford.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The volunteers' of Barking, Havering and Redbridge give 1000's of hours every month to support patients, visitors and staff every day, week, month and year.  Some have volunteered for 28 years.  All our volunteers receive for their time is a drink/sandwich and a thank you.  As a way of showing them how greatly they are appreciated we have an annual thank you party, this is usually around the Christmas period.  Charlie is a volunteer, who volunteers as a thank you for the treatment his wife received as a patient from the hospital who were wonderful.  Last year Charlie at the ripe age of 70 years young did a sky dive and raised £2,000.  This year he will be abseiling the 504 ft Broadgate Tower with an aim of raising £3,000.
