BUPA Great North Run 2008 · 5 October 2008 ·
Hello!
On Sunday 5th October I am participating in the Great North Run 2008 in aid of Cancer Research UK which is held in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This prestigious event is the world's most popular half marathon road running event in the world with over 52,000 participants.
I am currently asking friends and family for sponsorship in order to reach my goal of £1000.
Unfortunately, Cancer is extremely prominent in today’s society and statistics show that 1 in 3 of us are likely to be in contact with a form of the disease, directly or indirectly, at some point in our lives. Charities such as Cancer Research UK invest money into cancer research in order to find cures and to provide more information about the disease.
The charity is particularly close to my heart as close friends and family have been diagnosed with different forms of cancer in the last two years. Fortunately the appropriate treatment to date has been a success which highlights how important the work that Cancer Research UK can be. My aim is to contribute as much as I can to this very worthwhile cause.
Any contribution will be of great help to me and the cause. Thank you in advance for your gracious consideration and support.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me. Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Yours Sincerely,
Charlie Clarence-Smith
