Charlotte's Round Arran Walk

Walking around The Isle of Arran on consecutive days · 29 May 2020
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I had a plan to walk around Arran in a few days just before lockdown . This had to go on hold, so after many weeks solid working it seemed that my birthday weekend was a good time to finally go ahead and enjoy a long walk . I may need to stop and help my colleagues to attend to emergencies but that's all part of the challenge.I'll pick up where I left off later on , even if it takes me 2 weeks. The Arran Coastal Way is around 65 miles . There is good weather this weekend so I'm excited to see how far I can get. My legs are going to get tired , I don't know how far they will carry me but any money raised will be a bonus! Ted will be joining in for as long as he's willing.
I was very privileged to enjoy an amazing trip last year with my daughter Helena , to visit my son Simon and partner Kati in Redhead NSW ,Australia. We visited many protected national parks and were thrilled to see some of the awesome wild animals and birds.
The unique and diverse wildlife of Australia is seriously endangered and the charity Australian Wildlife Conservancy works to acquire land and protect habitat for endangered indigenous species .This has been made all the more urgent by the bushfires last year.
Koalas suffered badly in the bushfires. They inhabit eucalypt forests and woodlands in eastern Australia from north Queensland through to south-east South Australia. AWC protects populations of Koalas and their habitat on Curramore and Mount Zero-Taravale Wildlife Sanctuaries.
I will be making my own donation to help AWC's good work and hope that this might help some of these amazing marsupials to still be here in 100 years time. I know that this is a very very difficult time for everyone but any small donations would be very much appreciated .
