Charlotte's Seconds Out Charity Boxing Event

Charlotte Cross is raising money for Weldmar Hospicecare
In memory of Joe Morgan
Weldmar Hospicecare needs to raise £26,000 a day to continue the specialist end of life care we provide in Dorset, both in the comfort of patient's own homes and at our IPU in Dorchester. 20% of our costs are met by the NHS, the rest comes from the generosity of our local community.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to take part in the biggest challenge I've ever taken on. A charity boxing match, with SO Boxing.

I have never boxed before so you can imagine that this is a fairly daunting, yet challenging event but hopefully whilst having punches thrown at me, I can raise a super amount of money for a special charity close to my boyfriend and his family's hearts.

Please read Joe's story below...

In 2018 my brother in law Joe was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer.

Unfortunately, by the time it was diagnosed, the cancer had already spread to his liver, lungs and lymph nodes, meaning he was put straight on to palliative care.

Sadly after 8 short months, and just 2 weeks after his 30th birthday, Joe passed away, leaving behind his fiancée and 3 small children.

Joe spent his final few weeks at Weldmar Hospice and the care him and the whole family received was phenomenal. Not only did they ensure he was comfortable and at ease, but they also facilitated days in the family room that allowed him to still be a Daddy.
