Story

On the 5th of april 2013, we lost Tony de Grey to acute myeloid leukaemia. He fought long and hard for 15 months and wouldnt give up without a fight. Throughout his battle he helped raise £178,000 for cure leukaemia and was on the radio so others' could follow his story which helped him reach out to others who were also struggling. He was awarded with a "champion of the year award 2012" for all his hard work and we must keep his legacy alive like he would have wanted. On the 30th june 2017 at 9am Diane de Grey and Paul Simmons will be walking 18 miles with others from Wolverhampton civic centre to  raise money for cure leukaemia. They will be walking to Edgbaston and then the following day on the 1st July, Charlotte, Diane and Paul will be walking 20 miles back to Wombourne cricket club in Wolverhampton. This is for such an important cause. Cure Leukaemia (CL) helps to save lives and hasten global progress towards eradicating blood cancer within the next 30 years. CL supports the internationally renowned Centre for Clinical Haematology in Birmingham and a network of specialist research nurses across the UK who administer often world first and potentially life-saving clinical trials to leukaemia patients who have exhausted standard treatments. In 2017, Cure Leukaemia is committed to raising an additional £1m to double the Centre's capacity for patients, world first trials & nurses. This is for those no longer with us and those still fighting. Please donate and help save lives!

"Every penny counts for cure leukaemia and it gives people like me another chance" - Tony de Grey.
