Age UK Hertfordshire aims to support the most lonely older people this winter. Many of our clients feel anxious, depressed and helpless and for many the uncertainty and enforced isolation is having an impact on their physical and mental wellbeing.

Story

This is a difficult time for everyone, particularly older people. Age UK Hertfordshire is the largest charity supporting older people in Hertfordshire and we have faced an unprecedented demand for our services. 75,000 older people live alone in Hertfordshire and with the current government restrictions, this winter is going to be tougher than ever as they face many long, dark and lonely days on their own. Our services are running remotely and we are providing wellbeing sessions and befriending online, but this isn't the same as having personal contact with someone. We are having to reimagine the way we continue to support the most vulnerable older people to ensure that nobody is left unsupported or in hardship. By supporting Age UK Hertfordshire's campaign '12 days of winter' you can help make this possible and help us reach as many isolated people as possible.
